Welcome Autumn!!

Paul was FINALLY home for a weekend so we took full advantage, packed the munchkins up, drove into the windy hills of the North Georgia Mountains and enjoyed the slightly (sortof) crisp fall air and did some apple pickin’ in Ellijay for the day.

A Petting Zoo where Eli saw this little goat and said “Mommy, look, it’s a goat dressed up in a cow costume!!”

IMG_6431

The little goats were obsessed with eating Jobe’s clothes, not sure why Jobe’s clothes were so scrumptious. There was no nibbling on Eli’s and Noah’s clothes, just Jobe’s and Jobe became so frustrated. Below is the sweet little brown goat just nibbling away and then Jobe saying “NOOO DOGGY, NO!”

T’was super funny =)

The big boys each got an apple to bring home from the bakery and Jobe just couldn’t get enough – so all night he begged and begged for bite after bite!

Rollin’ it up…(Bed roll that is…)

So Noah’s Kindergarten supply list had a little thing on the bottom that was new to me – ‘nap mat’ it said. Eli didn’t have to have one of these because his kindergarten got out a lot earlier than Noah’s does. My first thought was ‘What in the world is a nap mat and where in the world do I find one of these?!’

Lo’ and behold many friends filled me in on where to find them and one even offered one to me (thanks Misha =) But after researching mats, noticing that fleece was on sale at my local Hobby Lobby – I finally decided that I could NOT pass up a crafty mommy opportunity (even though I WAS super stressed already) So I took off, stocked up on Buzz Fleece – and broke out my sewing machine for the weekend.

Ta-da!!

Ok Mamas – Super easy if you have some (even just a few) sewing skills! This one is definitely NOT perfect. No measuring, no rules, etc. I don’t like using patterns or following instructions (I blame it on my rebellious nature) so my first few (of anything) are always a bit ‘off’. I just used:

  • fleece
  • foam to use inside of the bed
  • velcro (for the tabs while rolling it up, for the bed, and for the pillow – it was used on one edge so that the fleece is able to be washed)
  • white stuffed pillow found at a craft store

So far he has been using it for a week at school and he loves it, it serves it’s purpose. Here he is below ‘trying it out’ the day I made it. My sweet baby, zonked out!

And there you go…I love being a mommy!

Another Day of Firsts….sniff sniff

First day of Second grade. First day of Kindergarten. First day at a NEW school. Mommy’s first day home alone with Jobe – oh my goodness he is so much fun!! First day with our new lunch boxes. First day wearing new, super cool shoes (see Eli’s stance….he is cool). I could go on and on…

Everything was absolutely wonderful. Noah LOVED his class, his teacher, and being in a school with all of the big kids. He has been jumping around all week like he had ants in his pants because he was so excited about today. Elijah loved his new classmates and loved seeing some of his old friends there as well. I ADORE his teacher, she is absolutely amazing. We are sooooooo blessed to have this opportunity to have our babies go to North Georgia Christian. I am excited to see my boys blossom over this next year.

Paul has been an AMAZING daddy this week and has gotten the boys up at 6:30 every morning to ‘practice’ for today. They would, very slowly, eat breakfast together before Paul left for work. And lo’ and behold, the boys woke up on their own this morning at 6:20 and came running downstairs bouncing off the walls (hard to imagine, I know)  SUPER EXCITED ABOUT SCHOOL!!!!!!!!! Woohoo!! FIVE Years of full Bliss…

My sweet middle, quiet child. He is so honest, loving, sneaky and headstrong. He knows what he wants and will let no one peer pressure him into changing his mind. He loves himself but loves his family more. It doesn’t matter how much his older brother picks on him, he will always put his brothers before himself – one selfless little boy and his heart can move mountains. I love my sweet Noah – who is FIVE!

What a wonderful birthday. Thank you to all that could show him love on his special day – he had such an amazing time and slept for almost 2 days straight, trying to recover!! As you all can tell, the summer has gotten the best of me and I haven’t posted since the boys got out of school. A BUSY summer with some great memories made – but a post for another time. Love!

We had such a super fun party with Noah’s little buddies, a great water slide, some yummy appetizers including ‘candy sushi’, and we even made our own sidewalk chalk for party favors. Fun weekend!

April Showers…

Sweet April showers of love…so cheesy, I know. Awesome month! Awesome weather! It was a big month, super busy Freemans, but I was able to snap a few pictures of a few outings, woohoo! We finally became members of Zoo Atlanta and will hopefully be enjoying the zoo over and over and over again -

African Wind Tunnel–Zoo Atlanta

My birthday was a sweet, sweet day thanks to my little boys. Nothing super special – just a fun little hike, feeding of the geese, and Mellow Mushroom eatin’ – my favorite restaurant. Thanks boys! Love you!
