Crafty Tot Tuesday

We made family photo candles for my mother for mothers day and they turned out pretty cute. I would love to try this again and try it in different ways  but this was fun, easy for Noah to help with the heating part, and we had a great time.

What you need:

  • a toddler =)
  • a white (has to be white) pillar candle
  • photo printed on white printer paper – NOT photo paper
  • wax paper
  • hair dryer

Start off by printing one of your favorite photos or designs on white printer paper. Cut it out and place it on the candle where you would like for it to be permanently. IMG_0364

Place a piece of wax paper over it and wrap the wax paper around the candle. Hold it down with your fingers and start warming the picture with the hair dryer. This will take a while, but keep the hair dryer in one place until you see the picture getting a bit darker in color, this means the wax is melting and pulling the photo into the wax. Make sure all edges and all of the photo are pulled into the wax and then you are finished!!
