Autumn Freebranch!!!!

Finally!! For the first time since I found out I was pregnant, I have been able to sit down, get my creative juices flowing, and spend a little time on Freebranch……ahhhh, it feels good to get my creative juices flowing again. Especially in time for fall and all the great holidays. I know that this won’t last long since my ‘before baby to-do list’ is super long, but we will see.

Freebranch will be out at Faith Fest in Winder this weekend with the awesome potter, Mallory Westbrook!! Awesome weather, awesome festival, awesome music, can’t wait…

I will hopefully get these on the website tonight http://www.freebranch.com/  If you are interested in some of these earrings, then click on over for a visit very soon or just send me a message or comment!!

Old School Reminiscing

Have you ever heard a song that takes you back to your younger days? Or a smell? I hear songs all the time, smell things all the time…and I love to ponder on all of the things that I have been able to experience in my lifetime so far. But what I really love is to get out an old box of pictures or picture books and just let the memories flow back – like a wave of emotions, it seems like yesterday. The memories are what mold us, they are what make us who we are, why we believe what we believe, and those memories (good and bad) I cherish and hold dear to my heart!
The reason I was started on my most recent ‘memory searching kick’ is because my best friend from college came home from the UK for a few weeks and we were FINALLY able to have dinner last Sunday. Megan is now married!!! Living in the UK, living in a cute house they are renovating together and learning a whole new culture (including learning how to drive on the other side of the road). I miss her dearly, but our visits are even more special now that we only get to see each other a few times a year. But with technology the way it is…I feel like we never even miss a beat!

Ends up, a college friend of ours’ , Andy, lives only 5 minutes away from where we were eating – so he came up to catch up. For the first time in 12 years, we all sat at a table together reminiscing about old times, new times, and we were finally able to hug each other =)
After dinner, Andy put this little collage together to see how much we had changed. The top picture was taken on the Appalachian Trail where a group of us camped out together – no kidding, we camped in 20 degree weather, in 50 degree sleeping bags. One of the COLDEST nights of my life. Great memories….

Soooo….after all of this…I came home looking through old pictures of college friends, places I have traveled, places I have lived, etc… Found a few of Megan, she is going to HATE me for this…

Goodness Gracious…the trouble this girl and I got in together…And I don’t regret any of it =) fun times!!
Not sure why I don’t have any pictures of us together during our ‘hippie/patchouli’ days in Boone or our concert days going to see Fleetwood Mac, the Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, or sweet Dave -  or our days spent in Asheville and the beautiful Smokey Mountains – I do have tons of our dogs…but I will spare y’all the furry photos. Love you honey bunny! And miss you every day!!

As we got older…finally growing up…well, maybe…

Oh….and I couldn’t leave these out – I pulled these out of the photo box a while back – These were taken back when Paul and I were still athletes, in SUPER fine shape, and not yet married with little munchkins. Goodness – 9 years have gone by!!!!!

Autumn Bliss…

Or so we hoped =(

Fall…my favorite part of the year: Mother nature is working her magic and is absolutely stunning, crisp cool mornings and days that allow you to be outside all day long without sweating one bit, and the kickoff to the season of gratefulness and family snuggling in front of warm fires next to big, yummy smelling trees.

I enjoy this season more and more every year, especially now that I have my own little family. But this year is even more special because I know that I am kicking this wonderful season off with such beautiful boys who are at the perfect age to just ‘take it all in’ and enjoy every moment – it will all be wonderful, exciting, and snuggly - and then at the very end of these blissful 3 months we will be welcoming a new member into our sweet, crazy clan that I call my ‘perfect family’.  What a perfect ending to a perfect season!!

IMG_1490

So – last weekend I was ready – READY to kick off the most wonderful season of the year!! We packed up – only drove 10 minutes to a new corn maze I found literally right down the road….and had a BLAST.

 IMG_1494

Yes, Elijah is dressed up as a ninja…

IMG_1492

They had a ‘corn box’ – instead of a sand box – too cool!!

Face Painting and balloon animal making…

And a super fun hay ride that was super long!!

IMG_1495

Too bad my ‘kick off’ party didn’t bring in the crisp weather – this week has been in the 90’s  BOOOOO!!!! But, the boys want to go back now that they have pumpkins to tromp through – so we will try again soon =)

Go FALL!!!

Cowgirl Giddish

Go Kelli Girl!! THIS MONDAY 10PM!!

Her ‘Past Life’ show didn’t do as well as expected, boooo – it was a good show, but was on at the same time as LOST the final season, and a few other big time shows. But she has since moved on to “Chase” and I think this role probably fits her much better – especially her accent =)

For those of us that knew Kelli growing up, she was known for her athleticism, accent, and great acting of course – so this show fits her perfectly!! Check it out this Monday at 10pm – help BOOST her ratings!!

It is still so weird seeing her on TV – I don’t think I will ever get used to it. Hopefully one day we will be watching her on the big screen!!

Our Smallest Athlete

Oh the memories of fall days ~ a chill in the air, overcast, leaves beginning to change, and football games in the background of grills firing up and chilled beer ready to be drunk. We just love sports in the Freeman household! Fall, Spring, and Summer – year round…sports are our heaven.

With Paul and I both growing up playing sports since preschool and both being college athletes, it wasn’t too far fetched to believe (and always hope) that our children will have some genes of athleticism of some sort. Noah has always been swift footed and very athletic – Elijah has an amazing build and is now really coming into his own and wanting to become involved in any sport available. He was a bit timid when he was younger and wanted nothing to do with the ‘craziness’ of 3 year olds running around a soccer field like wild turkeys ~ of course, I didn’t blame him – the crazy little kiddos were a bit intimidating!!

Yesterday, Noah hit a milestone – his first sport game EVER!! His first time really venturing out from mommy to do something on his own, and his first time doing something that didn’t also involve his big brother. He was alone…out there on the huge field… swallowed by his jersey and shin guards, and just LOVING it!

He met his team, they all grabbed a ball and just practiced kicking, scoring and having fun. But he told me before we went to the game - “Mommy, I do not want to play with other boys and girls that will take my ball”  He has a bit of ‘younger brother syndrome’ and is a bit protective of his things and doesn’t want someone to come and take them. Of course this worried me, but we talked about it all week in hopes that game day would turn out just fine. So he had his own ball in practice…

IMG_1362IMG_1370

His form and swiftness was absolutely amazing!! Any parent that knew soccer and had played before would be so proud!!

 IMG_1391 IMG_1403 IMG_1419 IMG_1431

He even had little cuts and jabs here and there!…

IMG_1453 IMG_1462

But after practice and as game time was rolling around, I started to notice him pulling into his shell a bit (not a good sign). So Mommy (below) sat and talked with him and reminded him of how the game of soccer is played with only one ball, no hands, and how everyone shares and tries to kick the one ball into the goal.

IMG_1364

Well, the game started…the craziness began…the turkeys began to run wild…and this is where my baby ended up for the entire game…

IMG_1481

So, better luck next week. He is excited about trying again so hopefully we can wake up to a crisp autumn morning, warm pancakes, and load up our awesome soccer gear for a fun day on the field. If not, I have to remind myself that he is only 3 – and that this is a very new ‘craziness’ for him and can be so very overwhelming.

He has many years ahead of him (if he so chooses) to enjoy the smells of freshly cut grass, hot chocolate on the sidelines, shin guard tans, sweaty teammate hugs, and mommy and daddy and brother cheering oh so crazily for him from the bleachers!!

Can’t wait!!

Apples and Legos

What a monumental week it has been in the Freeman Household!! I have officially become the mommy of a true ‘school boy’ and I am loving every minute of it, and so is he. He is so ready to learn about the world around him and I am so excited to see what is in store for my science boy.

IMG_0838

After 5 years of playing, napping, snuggling, adventures, tantrums, loving, fun and amazing days together…my big boy has started kindergarten!! He adores his teacher, his school, and most of all, having his best buddy, Samuel in his class. Elijah’s class consists of 10 students – NINE of which are BOYS!!! Fun times ahead…

After such a successful day on Tuesday, Mommy had super yummy cupcakes waiting in the car to celebrate with:  (yes, he is a little tired)

So, on another note…..

Tomorrow is Paul’s birthday. Noah and I went out yesterday morning to find Paul a Lego set that he has been wanting for some time. As the day went on I made sure to remind my little man that this was a secret, we don’t tell daddy, we have to wrap it in paper so that Daddy can open it in a few days…again and again and again, We Don’t Tell Daddy!!!!!!

Well, Paul walked from work and Noah screamed “DADDY, WE GOT YOU A PRESENT!!!!!” I was able to catch him in time and say “nooooooo, it is a surprise, daddy will see it on Friday”

Goodness, he was just beside himself – sooo excited. So 30 minutes later he walked over to our room (which is where the legos were hidden) and said “mommy, let’s get daddy’s legos now!!!”  Right in front of Paul. I decided that it was time to give up….Paul got his birthday present 2 days early. I figured it would be too hard for little man to keep a secret for 2 days…whew!

IMG_1359

A good 2 hours of building and FUN before bed!! The boys loved it. So much so that Elijah came downstairs at 2 am, woke me up, and wanted to play with the legos. Ummmmmm, no sir!

IMG_1356 IMG_1357

I have learned my lesson with my little one and this should be a lesson for all of you – Do not tell him any secrets =)  He just can’t hold in his excitement. He will not be my Christmas Shopping Buddy that is for sure!!
