Crafty Tot Tuesday

Today we did a super messy craft and if you have girls, I am sure this craft will turn out a lot prettier than ours did.

Yarn Bowls!!! Too cute and fun to make!

What you will need:

  • yarn, any color or multiple colors
  • glue
  • scissors
  • balloon or ball
  • plastic cups or bowls for glue

Steps:

  1. Blow up the balloon and set it somewhere steady.
  2. Cut strips of string and lay in a pile. I cut them about 6 to 12 inches long.
  3. Have your little one dip string in glue, run finger down string to get off excess, place string in any shape on your balloon
  4. repeat steps until you are happy with the way it looks
  5. let dry for 24 to 48 hours
  6. pop balloon and voila!!! You have your bowlIMG_0865

My bowl turned out a little flimsy. I think it was because I wasn’t able to use as much string as I had wanted. Noah can’t stand to get his hands dirty so the moment he saw my fingers in the glue, he took off to find other things to do. Elijah woke up way too early this morning, therefore, he only lasted about 10 minutes during craft and then had to go to nap. So we didn’t get to finish our bowl the way we wanted =(  But it still turned out cute!!   IMG_0866 IMG_0867

Fun Times…

The Freeman household has been crazy lately, when is it not? =) I hate that I haven’t been able to do Crafty Tuesday – hopefully I can make tomorrow Crafty Thursday, woohooo. A lot has been going on lately but the most important is that my baby boy turns 3 in a week and a half – August 1st will be here SOON!! He is so excited and he has decided that he wants to go camping for his birthday and have an Iron Man cake – those are the only 2 things he cares about. Easy to please….can’t wait.

Finally, I got to see my sister this past week. We haven’t seen each other in what seems like forever!! They were able to come over for some play time, lunch, and we hiked down to the creek/rock slide in the green space behind our property. Such fun, I love you Eba! Check out cutie patootie, Charlie, below enjoying the water…who also has a birthday coming up in 4 weeks. I can’t believe  he is going to be 1 !!!

A week of 1st’s here at the Freeman house:

  • I laid sod, alone, in our yard this past week. Went to pick it up, loaded, unloaded, etc…all by my pregnant self =) I was proud, but paid for it the day after, boooooo!!!
  • I have never been in an accident, NEVER! And I have only received one speeding ticket in my life – for this, I am proud. Today was a rough day at the Freeman household with the Freeman boys and mommy was on a short fuse as we left our driveway this evening. I wasn’t paying attention, took off, and lo and behold – ran my mirror straight down the side of Paul’s truck. Can you believe this??????? My little yellow car, not a scratch and look at what I did to Paul’s!!!!! I was fuming!!! Paul thought it was hilarious, thank goodness. Eli thinks that daddy’s car is now super cool since it has a racing stripe. Hopefully tomorrow will be more peaceful around this crazy zoo….

Crafty Tot Tuesday – Rocket Style

Today we made balloon rockets. Super fun craft for boys since we all know that boys like to throw things, run, and throw more things.

IMG_0848

What you need:

  • balloons
  • streamers
  • small dry beans or peas (anything will work as long as it is long enough to fit through the funnel)
  • funnel
  • paint (optional)

IMG_0840 IMG_0841

Step 1 – put funnel in the top of the balloon and pour a handful of peas into the balloon. This weighs the balloon down and helps it to fly a lot faster.

Step 2 – tie streamers to the bottom of the balloon, this is just for looks..

Step 3 – have child paint the balloon to make it pretty. My boys didn’t want to waste time painting and waiting for it to dry. So we skipped this step.

Step 4 – have fun and throw, throw, throw!!

The Goop Monster

IMG_0792IMG_0795

No, not slime, goop. The boys were being such boys yesterday – to the point to where I wanted a video camera so that I could document boy behavior for those of you that parent only girls…just so you could see what you were missing =) I mean running full force throughout the house, wrestling each other to the point of mommy being afraid of a broken neck, jumping off of chairs onto massive piles of laundry, squealing out of pure delight that the other brother was about to catch up and body slam…yes, a full hour of this….and then crash, they were out cold for naps!

But in the midst of all of this, my little Noah with his sweet soft baby hair, decided to see what goop felt like on his head. This is like slime, but much harder – kindof like candle wax, and impossible to get off of things, get out of fabric, and get out of hair!!!

So baby hair was SADLY cut off and saved in a little baggy:

Awww, he is growing up…
