Crafty Tot Tuesday

Today’s craft is a Butterfly Footprint craft!! Yay! Can you tell that I am itching for a little girl? =) For those of you that know me well,  know that I absolutely love butterflies and always have. Yes, if I have a daughter someday her room will be full of them and this craft will probably be made year after year so that i can document her growing feet.  But, today I have to experiment on Noah – and I am sure he could care less about having a butterfly on his Batman/Buzzlightyear wall. But oh-well!

To start with, I gathered together a brown piece of paper (although any paper will do), a trash bag to protect the floor, washable paint, paper plate, and a wet paper towel to wipe his feet after the ‘stamp’.

I then poured green paint on the plate and stamped one foot at a time. Make sure you stamp them together and leave enough space in between for the body.

And voila!!! A lovely butterly…made out of ‘boy-friendly colors’!

And since we are on the crafty subject, here are the latest earrings being posted to my site this week. I just LOVE them! Have a GREAT week!

Crafty Tot Tuesday…..or Thursday =)

Ha!!!! My schedule has been soooo off this week because of MLK day. BUT, Noah and I did do a craft on Tuesday, which felt like Monday, I downloaded pictures on Wednesday, and I am posting on Thursday – which really feels like Wednesday. Confused yet?

My second crafty Tuesday and I have already posted late =( oh well. We didn’t do a huge craft, just a little fun with body tracing. I did this with Eli when he was two, so I had to try it with Noah. I had him lie/lay on a large sheet of paper, I traced his body, and then let him color. He had so much fun seeing his body from an angle other than a mirror, and it was a great learning tool when trying to place eyes, nose, and mouth correctly (ended up on the chin but that’s ok).

Noah’s is hard to see =( booo – but the brown is the one made by Elijah 2 years ago and Noah’s is white.

Eat for Autism!!!!!!!!!

Did you know that the autistic ratio has just dropped AGAIN! Autism is now thought to affect 1 in every 110 children – 1 in every 70 boys. Scary, sad, and unbelievable.

Tomorrow night, January 21st, every Chili’s restaurant in the Atlanta and metro areas will be participating in ‘autism speaks’ night. 10% of their proceeds will be donated to an organization called Autism Speaks. If you want to go out to eat, but can’t make up your mind on where….just head on over to the closest Chili’s and help support this wonderful organization.

“Autism Speaks has grown into the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.”   You can visit their website here: http://www.autismspeaks.org/

Crafty Tot Tuesday

OK – so every Tuesday from now on I am going to try a new craft with my baby boy and I am going to blog about it! Yippeee! I would like this craft to be something we have never tried before, something creative, and something that requires us to use things from around the house. I very rarely get good alone time with my youngest baby so I want to take advantage of this time while I can. So every Tuesday will be called Crafty Tot Tuesday here on the Freeman blog.

Today we did paint stamping. Started off by finding an old sponge (not used) from the garage. We then found objects from around the house with different textures and shapes. Then we added paint to the top of the sponge until it soaked in just a bit, dabbed our shape of choice, then stamped it onto the white paper. Noah had so much fun with this, he was so giddy about the fact that he was getting to paint on the floor (on the paper). But this boy does not like to get his hands dirty so we were washing within 10 minutes of our project. Fun day!

Noah’s New Trick

Now here is Elijah trying Noah’s new trick =) hehe….

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

IMG_9081

This morning was the first morning my boys were able to be with each other since Monday evening and this is how they spent their first moments together =) soooo cozy. They were so excited to see each other and they have been playing ever since.

Elijah is feeling almost 100%. He hasn’t had a fever since Wednesday but he still gets tired very easily. Noah has been playing fine this whole time, gets tired easily, but has a very nagging cough when he tries to sleep. So Noah and Mommy slept about 3 hours last night…rough night. But we are finally on the mend (we hope)!!!

They felt well enough to do this, this morning:

We played outside for about 10 minutes…until both boys were making this face:

And INSIDE the Freeman household…the bunk beds are HALF-WAY there!!!!!!!

Ringing in the New Year…Freeman Style

Happy New year! The boys and I tried our first annual ‘stay up until midnight party’ this new year’s eve. By ‘BOYS’ I mean my 2 smallest boys – my husband was in bed by 7pm…..that is a story for another time.

Poor Elijah was just ecstatic about staying up until 12 – all day he talked about it. He stayed up until 11:30 and then crashed! We blew up a mattress in the living room, ate snacks and watched movies all night long! Sooooo much fun, great times with my little joys. Noah fell asleep at 11, Elijah 11:30, and I went out at 12:15. Maybe next year he will make it. We have paid for it today with grumpy boys and a lot of moodiness. But it was fun while it lasted and we all got to sleep and snuggle together.

Today, a great old friend of mine, Megan and her man, Steve came over to visit and spend some time with the boys. Megan is Eli’s girlfriend and he doesn’t mind that she brought her boyfriend along =) Great times catching up, doing sparklers, fireworks, and reminiscing.
